Grand juries have evolved through a long history to meet the needs and conditions of our citizens. The Sacramento County Grand Jury is a 19-member team of volunteers from all walks of life across our region. Our role is to ensure that the institutions of government are responsive and fair to those who are governed. The grand jury also protects minority opinions or unpopular causes from persecution or prosecution.
